The Crown was purchased by Pablo Diablo's Legitimate Business Firm Limited whose sole Director is Russell Brand late in 2021. A Transfer of the Premises Licence Holder in Pablo Diablo's Legitimate Business Firm Limited name was issued on 29 November 2021. The website is not active as at 10 December 2021 nor on 9 May 2023.

As at 18 April 2022, 9 August 2022 and 9 May 2023 there is no known news when it may reopen. If you have any news, please e-mail ku.gro.armac.noxos@sbup.

Regrettably affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Crown has been closed as a pub since 23 March 2020. The pub and adjacent barn was for sale with Christie estate agents (since at least 4 June 2021 - as at 17 August 2021). Civil ceremonies restarted in July 2021. Was under offer on 7 September 2021. Message on their website "The Old Inn (pub) will reopen soon, exact date to be confirmed." as at 12 & 23 October 2021 (SOX CAMRA does not know whether this is under new owners).

16th-century brick and flint coaching inn with origins that may well date back to the 11th century. The adjacent 400-year-old barn is used for functions and is licenced for civil ceremonies. A pleasant and cosy interior and a focus on quality food. Popular with walkers and cyclists.
