A focal point for the village of Islip, the birthplace of Edward the Confessor. 'Time Team' once dug up the car park looking for the remains of a chapel connected with him. Has its own skittle alley and an Aunt Sally team. Nice garden with play equipment. School bus service only after July 2016 but it's good walking and cycling country and there is a station with a regular but infrequent service - about 8 a day but last one quite late. Or it's a 2 mile walk from Kidlington. Closed again Feb 2024 (flooding?) but no current web site or FB page.
