See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
A typical Eynsham Cotswold stone building, listed grade ll, early/mid 18th century, with low beams and big fireplaces. What used to be the restaurant is now a seating area.. The bar has old pictures of the town on the walls, a huge brass bell for calling time, and a piano to keep the customers entertained. There is some outside seating on the grass verge across the road. Planning application 21/02896/FUL for conversion to residential submitted 5 Oct 2021 and refused. "Not demonstrated no longer viable or could be made viable ... or adapted as community-run enterprise contrary to local plan etc." Another 23/00730/FUL March 2023 for change of use to residential refused same reason. For sale on Savills' website April 2024.
