An 18th century building and a coaching inn when the London to Oxford road went through the village and then part of the Halls Oxford Brewery estate. At one time famous for its cricket memorabilia some of which remains following the well done 2024 refit which included expanding the patio area. Closed several times by Admiral and finally bought in 2024 by the owner of the nearby Lamb Inn in Little Milton. Reopened January 2025. Head chef Rick Owens, previously of 'Le Manoir', is aiming to offer "elevated typical pub fare" with affordable, fresh, locally sourced meals and snacks. While food is a focus beer quality is a top priority. Two cask beers as of Jan 2025, with third engine for during busy periods. Retains the feel of a great village pub.
