This double-fronted limestone pub was built in around 1815 and still retains some old thatched outbuildings which were most likely barns or stables. For a long time it belonged to Halls Oxford Brewery but was put up for sale by Punch Taverns in 2011 and was bought by a near neighbour who wanted to make sure it stayed a pub. The long standing two-room layout has been altered to make one large room. The outbuildings now contain a large function room (The Watermans) used for events and sport on screens and can b hired. A free house that has a rotating range of mostly local cask ales as well as keg choices. Offers 3 real ciders. The menu gives a nod to the landlord Adam's Welsh heritage with Sunday's featuring a choice of Roasts.
