Large pub on the green at lower Wolvercote, a short walk from the remains of Godstow nunnery. There is an attractive, mature garden with a children’s play area. Sadly the pygmy goats have moved on. The indoor dining area is bolstered by a huge conservatory. Run for 10 years as a gastropub by Jacob's & Field but could not agree on lease renewal. Opened June 2023 and closed again. Re-opened November 2024 under new management. Closed again 2 September 2025 although lights still on. Reopened September 11 under even newer management.
