The Chequers Smokehouse moved to the Red Lion and the Chequers re-opened as a French Brasserie for a short while. Under new management again June 2022 and had a real ale. Seems to have closed again and reopened November 2023 with more of a gastro-pub vibe but also has a cosy pub feel to it. Still to let with Stonegate at April 2024. Closed again. Open again! Now has some Carlsberg cask ale. Craft Union's 600th pub apparently.
