This friendly village local is renowned for its excellent quality food with ingredients sourced from local producers.

While remaining food-led, three real ales are usually available, with one from local microbreweries, and others coming from further afield. As well as formal dining spaces throughout the interior, there is relaxed sofa-style seating in front of the fire in the main bar, as well as towards the restaurant area at the rear.

Reopened on 8 December 2022 with new tenants and a new name as the "Bear of North Moreton"; the new tenants have links with the Keep bar and Five Little Pigs restaurant/bar (both in Wallingford). It had been closed on 22 September 2022 as the Bear by the previous lessees.
