Henley's only family-run genuine free house is a traditional, welcoming one bar local. It dates from the 1860s and is located in a terrace-housed street about five minutes walk from the centre of town. It is very popular with regulars and visitors alike. The large, secure garden, very popular with families in the summer, has an aviary and a pond.
The three guest beers often come from local microbreweries, but may be sourced from anywhere.
TVs show sporting events and the pub is home to darts and cribbage teams and hosts regular quiz nights biweekly and live music events three or four times a year - check their Facebook page for details.
No real fire but has a fake woodburner that looks realistic.
South Oxfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2008, 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2020.
