Reopened on 14 March 2025 with a name change to Crown at Chilton from Rose & Crown having temporarily closed about 20 December 2024 under the previous owner. It is a sister pub to the George at Upton from 14 March 2025.

Initially it will serve drinks only. The opening hours are for the week up to 21 March 2025. Some refurbishment is still taking place (as at 13 March 2025); the intention is to open every day.

The facilities, including the real ale offering, may have changed; this will be updated when details are notified.

Single bar pub approx. two miles from the Harwell Science Centre and two and a half miles from the Ridgeway national trail. The darts and pool are in an alcove to the rear.
