Recently refurbished single bar pub approx. two miles from the Harwell Science Centre and two and a half miles from the Ridgeway national trail.

Reopened on 14 March 2025 with a name change to Crown at Chilton from Rose & Crown having temporarily closed about 20 December 2024 under the previous owner. It is a sister pub to the George at Upton from 14 March 2025.

As of mid-April a significant refurbishment has been completed and the opening hours are also from this time. The the intention is to open every day. Initially it will serve drinks only, and four beers are available on handpump, with the house Crown Best Bitter being brewed by Theakston. The food offering is on a programme of progressive ramping up, so although some is available, times will vary.

The facilities will be updated in due course, although previously there were darts and pool are in an alcove to the rear.
