This pub re-opened with a new landlord. The details here will be updated once the pub has been re-surveyed.

The locals refer to this as "the only pub in Newell Green!" and report that this late 18th Century Greene King pub has been transformed since the new managers took over. The outside has been repainted. The staff are excellent. Food is proper English Pub fare and at a decent price. For those who remember the Sports TV and bar-billiards table, well they have gone. It is now a cosy, friendly, community local pub that welcomes families, children, dogs and even horses, who have their own space in the car park area. The surrounding area has attractive walking trails and is a popular hotspot for dog walkers. In the bar, four handpumps serve beers from the Greene King stable along with changing guest ales. Mini beer and cider festivals have featured in recent years. Inside, patrons can take advantage of a real log fire during winter months and the large beer garden in summer. Home made traditional pub food is served from award winning suppliers. Friday is 'Fryday Fish Night' serving fresh fish caught only 24 hours earlier and delivered during the night. Call on Thursday to find out what the fish of the day will be. If you have a particular favourite, then let them know in advance and they will do their best to 'catch' it for you. Thursday is home made curry night and Sunday has traditional roast dinners available from 12 to 7pm, accompanied by a home made Yorkshire pudding.
