Reopened on 5 July 2026 as The Chequers. Initially, food not available Tuesday and Wednesday - call to confirm if travelling.

Traditional pub dating back to 1765, known for a while as The Red Lion, with displays of hanging baskets on the front patio in summer. A Hook Norton pub, the changing beer comes from their seasonal range. It is a very pleasant village pub with a modern conservatory-style dining area to the rear, good food with Sunday roasts and a TV which is wheeled out for major sporting events.

Approximately one mile from Heyford station and the Oxford canal. The car park is before the pub, if arriving from the main road.
