Community pub where there are usually five hand pumps in use with a range of styles and strengths for the discerning drinker. A weekly new-to-the-pub 'beer of the week' guest ale is announced every Wednesday, highlighting the varied and interesting beer choice available. Friday nights are always busy with musical entertainment alternating between local bands and the occasional disco. The rest of the week the most noise comes from the buzz of conversation. The pub hosts a regular beer festival at Easter, and a September Cider festival. There is a Sunday quiz once a month. Aside from the comfortable interior, including fires in winter, there is a charming and well designed courtyard beer garden. Sunday lunches are deservedly popular, so be sure to book a place, otherwise bar snacks such as filled rolls are available on Saturday lunchtime. North Oxfordshire Pub of the Year 2024.
