Three-storey stone coaching inn on the ancient Worcester to London road, which sensitive renovation under new owners revealed to date from 1637, and featuring a fine Morland's plaque on the front wall. At the front is a small dining area and the bar, warmed by a wood-burning stove. Two handpumps are in constant use , usually serving O.P.A and Tom Long of Stroud Brewery, along with a third pump with a guest ale in summer. To the rear of the building in a later extension is the larger restaurant area serving award-winning food. Accommodation in the form of eight letting rooms are available.
