Three-storey stone coaching inn on the ancient Worcester to London road. Sensitive renovation revealed a date from 1637, and the pub features a fine Morland's plaque on the front wall. At the front is a small dining area and the bar, warmed by a wood-burning stove. Two handpumps are in constant use, usually serving OPA and Tom Long from Stroud Brewery, along with a third pump with a guest ale in summer. To the rear of the building, in a later extension, is the larger restaurant area serving award-winning food. There are eight letting rooms rooms available.
