The White House is a community owned pub, and was relaunched in October 2020. As a free house, it has a selection of two or three beers from Little Ox brewery. There is a lower bar area, with a dart board and fireplace, a long lounge along the front and a dining area behind. At the front there is a patio garden, with benches, and at the back a landscaped garden. Meals are served every day. Wednesday is quiz night, also a monthly Saturday quiz, and there are other events and visiting food trucks (see Facebook and also the pub's website). Cars of customers must be registered at the bar. This is the pub where Winston Churchill allegedly learned to drink, and you can sample your pint whilst sitting in Winston's drinking corner. There are many Churchillian photos and illustrations around the pub. Shares are available in the community benefit society to enable it to make further improvements to the pub and to support its continued success (see the pub's website for details).
