See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
CAMRA accredited for serving consistently well-kept real ales. Reputed to be the oldest house in the village, ring counting of roof timbers dates it to 1494. It may have been an ale house in the 1500's when it was "The Five Bells". It was later "The High Flyer" and changed to "The Royal Stag" in 1796. Close to the church the Royal Stag serves 4 real ales usually including 2 from local Windsor & Eton brewery. The front part of the pub is the bar area with soft seating and the restaurant is to the rear. Sunday roasts are popular so come early, because when its gone, its gone! Outside there is a large patio style seating area. Home made food is served. There is bingo on the first Tuesday and a quiz on the last Tuesday of the month.
