See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
The bridge dates from 1416 and there has been a building here on an island in the Thames since the 17th century. Nobody seems sure whether the pub is named after the island or vice versa. Licensed since the 18th century this Grade II-listed pub is split over two levels with a large garden area next to the river and lovely views of the countryside and the town's historic buildings. Now owned by the Brakspear pubco. A bit seasonal as you would expect and might not always have the full beer range on in the winter. Card payments only.
