See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

It would be wrong to suggest that this 17th century thatched pub is just about food, despite the fact that is has a Michelin Star to its name. Mike and Imogen North took over here in 2006, and have blended the insatiable demand for Mike’s food with maintaining a village pub. As a result, there is still a small bar area, and three real ales are sold, usually one from Vale and two other more well-known brands. The back of the bar is an old fireplace, so staff have to be trained to duck every time they access the till! There is a large garden, with an Aunt Sally throw (the pub has several teams), and at the front is a duck pond, which adds to the picture postcard image. The (infrequent) bus service has been withdrawn completely from July 2016 so you’ll have to find other means to get here, but do find a way, it will be worth it.
