See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Most people who have been to Oxford have been to the Trout too. Situated on the banks of the Thames, with a terrace alongside the river, this pub features in most guidebooks and is therefore hugely popular. There has been a building of some sort here since the 12th century and the current pub dates from1737. A popular Morse and Lewis location, there is a private island in the river reached by a picturesque bridge, actually called Rickety Bridge, though this is not accessible to customers. Not to mention the peacocks. Has been recently refurbished and seems to have gone up market a bit. Usually has a nother ale on in the summer.
