See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Built in 1897 to the design of HT Hare, the architect of Oxford’s Town Hall, this pub is a fine building that replaced an earlier pub that had once been the lodgings of the Bursar of Brasenose College. Oxford City Football Club’s stadium was to the rear of the pub until the early 1980s, when it moved to Marston. The pub has an upstairs room which is now open for drinking. The pub, run by Wadworth's, closed in October 2019 and is now been taken on by Tap Social Movement brewery. Outdoor seating covers much of the former car park. Usually has two cask ales on or one and a cider.
