See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

The Perch has had a substantial refurbishment early 2019. Much of the interior of the pub is given over to dining, though there is a small bar area with big sofas and a huge fireplace. In summer, drinkers flock here to sit in the huge garden, and there is an outdoor bar that opens in good weather (Sat & Sun and Fri from 4) to serve barbecue food and an ale straight from the barrel. Access to the pub is either from Binsey Lane, off Botley Road, or from the Thames Path. It is said to be haunted by a sailor. Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) frequented the pub and gave readings from Alice in Wonderland. Also visited by C. S. Lewis. Famous as a jazz venue between 1928 and 1948. Card payment only.
